Saturday, April 6th, 3 to 5pm - FESTIVAL KICKOFF open poetry reading (with free raffle, prizes for all readers) hosted by Mary Torregrossa inside the backroom of the Santa Catalina Branch of the Pasadena Public Library on 999 E. Washington Blvd.

Tuesday, April 9th, 7 to 10pm - ZZyZx WriterZ MEETING & READING hosted by Kimberly Cobian inside the backroom of Garfono's Pizza on 5468 Valley Blvd. in El Sereno near Cal State L.A. (Casual intimate reading and networking with fellow writers and artists.  One rule: bring some writing or art to share.)

Wednesday, April 10th, 7:30 to 10pm - SHOUT! Poetry Then & Now themed featured reading with open mic hosted by Eric Morago featuring Andres Bermejo, Xochitl-Julisa Bermejo, and Christopher Luke Trevilla at Half Off Books on 6708 Greenleaf Ave. in Whittier 

Saturday, April 13th, 3 to 5pm - THE DEAD & THE LIVING open poetry reading (each reader reads two poems, one from a dead poet and one of their own, plus free copy of POETRY magazine for first ten readers) hosted by CaLokie inside the backroom of the Santa Catalina Branch of the Pasadena Public Library on 999 E. Washington Blvd. 

Wednesday, April 17th, 7 to 8:30pm - BLOOD EMBERS: POEMS ON LOVE, LOSS, AND HEARTBREAK writing workshop led by Christopher Luke Trevilla inside the RiT Gallery & Center on 15866 Main St. in La Puente

Wednesday, April 17th, 7:30 to 9:30pm - 17 ON 17 (Haiku Open Mic) hosted by Deborah P Kolodji at Bean Town Coffee Bar on 45 N. Baldwin Ave. in Sierra Madre

Friday, April 19th, 3 to 5pm - SGV POETRY IN MOTION: A TEEN AND YOUTH SHOWCASE AND COMPETITION hosted by Christopher Luke Trevilla at the Arcadia Public Library on 20 W. Duarte Rd.

Saturday, April 20th, 4 to 6pm - ESSENCE AND ESSENTIALS FOR WRITING POETRY: GO WHERE IT TAKES YOU BUT TAKE ONLY WHAT YOU NEED workshop led by Mary Torregrossa in the meeting room of the Altadena Library on 600 E. Mariposa St. 

Sunday, April 21st, 9:30 to 11:30am - EARTH DAY POETRY HIKE on Sam Merrill Trail hosted by Don Kingfisher Campbell meets at corner of Lake Ave. and Loma Alta Dr. in Altadena (free composition books for all participants)

Tuesday, April 23rd, 6 to 8pm - WRITING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF MUSIC poetry writing workshop led by Mira Mataric in the meeting room of the Altadena Library on 600 E. Mariposa St.

Friday, April 26th, 6pm to 9pm - ZZyZx WriterZ OPEN MIKE & LIVE PERFORMANCE hosted by Kimberly Cobian at the Holy Grounds Cafe on 5371 Alhambra Ave. on El Sereno/Alhambra border (Open showcase for spoken word, poetry, storytelling, music, and performance art. Every 4th Friday of the month we feature a writer and live musical guest.)

Saturday, April 27th, 2 to 4pm - POETRY & COOKIES anthology reading hosted by Pauline Dutton at the Altadena Senior Center on 560 E. Mariposa St. 

Monday, April 29th, 6:00 to 8:30pm - CO-INSPIRATORS: POETS, ARTISTS, PAINTERS (will feature Valetin Asiddao, Don Kingfisher Campbell, Susan Dobay, Pauli Dutton, Betty Ford, Lalo Kikiriki, Ner de Leon, Gilmer Maluyao, Alice Pero, Maja Trochimczyk, Kathabela Wilson, and Rick Wilson) hosted by Rey Romea Luminarias in the Donald Wright Auditorium inside the Pasadena Central Library on 285 E. Walnut St.  WINNERS OF THE BROADSIDE AND CHAPBOOK CONTESTS WILL ALSO BE ANNOUNCED AND AWARDED.  LAST CHANCE TO GET A FESTIVAL T-SHIRT FOR ONLY $11 AT THIS EVENT!
